In the past several weeks, I’ve been doing some major upgrading to JOMaterial.net. Here’s a list of just some of the improvements:

• Possibly the most notable upgrade since JOMaterial.net started out more than three years ago is the upgrade to a Virtual Private Server, offering blazing-fast download speeds, page loads, and more. Read about this upgrade in depth!
• For users that have a free account at JOMaterial.net, I redesigned the edit profile page to have seven categories:
  • Basic, which will let you change your name, gender, and sexual orientation.
  • Contact, which will allow you to set up your personal contact information, such as your e-mail address and e-mail display settings, country, city, and state, and if you have a personal or favorite website, you can add a link in your profile. You can also add up to three instant messenger usernames!
  • Settings, which will let you change your username (when allowed), your timezone and Daylight Savings Time, and alter your birthdate display settings.
  • Personal, which will allow you to fill out your activities, interests, favorite music, TV shows, movies, books, quotes, and your “about me”.
  • Avatars, which will let you change your avatar (aka display icon).
  • Password, which will allow you to change your account password.
  • Picture, which will allow you to upload your own personal picture for display on your profile and throughout the site.
• You now have your own hit counter underneath your profile picture when you’re viewing your personal profile page (http://my.jomaterial.net/?user=username). You can also leave comments on your page and on other user’s pages!
• If you have a free account at JOMaterial.net, you can sign into your account from anywhere in the site, including on the home page. Just use the login widget on the right side of the page!

The other areas of JOMaterial.net have not been left untouched! For example, the Hot videos section now uses Adobe Flash Player to play all of the videos directly in your web browser. No more having to download a bunch of different video players just to view the ones you want!

This list barely touches the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the upgrades and improvements JOMaterial.net has gone through in the past few weeks. I hope you’re as excited about all of these as I am!
